Hospital Attendant 

Peshtigo Veterinary Clinic is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. We are a state-of-the-art clinic providing medical, surgical, and dental services for dogs, cats and the occasional exotic patient. 

Our goal each day is to provide the best care possible while having fun doing so. We are looking for a team player to continue this tradition of providing high quality and compassionate care to pets, their families, and sequentially, the community. 

As a hospital attendant the goal is to keep the daily flow of the clinic running as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Day to day duties will vary depending on the fluid needs of the clinic. An ability to work in multiple roles enthusiastically and multi-task is highly valued.

Responsibilities include:

● Greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient medical records
● Obtaining patient histories
● Professionally managing phone calls on multiple lines. Receive and process telephone, email and fax messages accurately
● Receiving inventory shipments
● Answering client’s inquiries about hospital policies, basic pet care questions and basic costs
● Preparing client invoices and obtaining payments 
● Assisting the veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care
● Aiding with routine diagnostic tests (ie. assisting radiographs, running bloodwork)
● Cleaning surgical instruments
● Assisting in maintaining hospital cleanliness 
● Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

● Must be 18 years or older
● Must be a self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.
● Experience in the field preferred, minimum of 1 year of customer service experience required. 
● Genuinely enjoy working with animals and able to compassionately and respectfully care for them when they are stressed, ill or in discomfort.
● Be socially aware of appropriate behavior when interacting with clients when patients are in critical and emotionally driven situations.
● Able to meet the physical demands of the position. Work requires lifting, carrying, and squatting.  Able to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 50# unassisted.
